According to statistics, compiled by the police and published on the BBC website this week, over 7,000 bikers and their pillion passengers were killed in road traffic accidents from 1999 – 2010. Only 1% of road traffic accidents involved motorbikes but bikers or their pillions accounted for 20% of the fatalities. More fatalities occurred at weekends.
If the statistics are to be believed, it is clear that riding a motorbike is dangerous. Do you ride a motorbike? What do you think?
